Pro Shop Attendant

Department: Golf Operations
Location: Lakewood Ranch, FL

Pro Shop Attendant

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Head Golf Professional, this position assists with merchandising, totals bill, accepts payment, makes tee times for Members and Guests and makes change for customers in Golf Shop of Rosedale Golf & Country Club.

Hours/days: Typically Monday through Sunday with varying hours, Part Time

Essential Functions:

· Excellent customer service skills and abilities.

· Basic understanding of retail operations and golf operations.

· Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.

· Schedule tee times for Members and Guests.

· Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.

· Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.

· Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.

· Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.

· Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill through the POS system.

· Accepts payment and makes change.

· Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.

· Cleans shelves, counters, or tables.

· Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift.

· Calculates sales discount to determine price.

· Assist with cart duties – Not limited.

· Serve food and beverage items to Guests.

· Ensuring uncompromising levels of cleanliness as well as protecting the assets of the property.

· Communicate need of supplies to the Head Golf Pro and Clubhouse Manager.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Language Skills: Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Physical Demands The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms’ climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment: This position requires to work both indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
